In 1938 Albert Earl Cranston began Cranston Machinery in Oak Grove, Oregon, at that time CMCO primarily built wire strapping machines for the newspaper industry to bale street bundles of newspaper. During WWII through the Korean Conflict the wire strapping machines were also used to tie C rations for the armed forces. After the war and the sale of the company to
Albert Edward Cranston, (A.E.'s From the early 1960's to the mid 70's Cranston Machinery built several hundred wire strapping machines and developed into automatic bale wrapping machines. Cranston Machinery was one of the first manufactures to be able to handle flash dried pulp in bale finishing equipment. Cranston has worked with many other machinery
builders to provide complete pulp lines in many countries for the last 30
years. Today Cranston Machinery has installations in Mills all over the world, and Cranston's reputation for quality and durability is well established in the industry.
